My husband and I were planning our destination wedding in Maui when we came across the question whether or not to have a videographer on our big day. We already had a photographer we trusted and were going to fly from San Diego to Hawaii with us, and from his recommendation, he sent us to Ethereal Photo & Video. We set up a meeting over the phone with Alex, and once we shared our wedding plans and venue with him, he immediately started envisioning ideas for our wedding video. Planning a destination wedding is already a different experience because you spend most of your time putting trust in people whom you most likely weren’t meeting face-to-face until arriving at your destination. Alex made my husband and I excited about having a videographer on our wedding day, and within 24 hours, we agreed that the Ethereal team were coming to Maui with us for our big day! We didn’t meet Alex and Makaela in person until they made it to the destination, but they were both enthusiastic, excited, and very professional with us in the two days leading up to wedding day! On the day of the wedding, they set up an interview scene in both the Bridal and Groom’s Suites, and asked each of us questions about our relationship and how we were feeling about our big moment. Some people might feel anxious about being asked questions on the spot like that, but it allowed us to give our most authentic answers about our love for one another! The microphones came back on for our ceremony, and they were so discreet that we didn’t even really remember we were wearing them. Alex and Makaela spent time during the ceremony and reception recording different angles of different moments throughout the night, so we were pretty sure they had plenty of footage to share! It wasn’t until we received our wedding video that we knew just how worth it having a videographer was for our big day. The time and effort put into our video really blew us away, moved us to tears, and literally brought us back to that very day on the shores of Maui. They captured every important moment from first dances, to speeches, to interviewing some of our guests for their final thoughts on our wedding day! For people who say they haven’t watched their video since the day they received it, they definitely didn’t get the same experience like we had with Ethereal. We’ve only been married a little over a year and I’d say we’ve watched our video at least a dozen times, with each time making us feel just the same as the first time we saw it. If we had to choose a videographer all over again, we’d pick Alex and Makaela without hesitation!
